22 December 2003 – In contrast to the picture below with the raw meat, this is a typical kitchen in a tukel where meat of any kind, raw or otherwise, is an unheard of luxury. The pot is made from clay and used to boil sweet potato, yam, taro or amicho the root part of the enset plant. For many, root crops make up the largest proportion of the daily diet.
