    Getachew is 3 and lives in Bolosso Sore Woreda in Walayita in the impressively named Southern Nations, Nationalities Peoples Republic (SNNPR). The area is currently suffering from a 'green' famine which has left many of the people impoverished and barely able to sustain any form of livelihood.

    This is a scene in one area of Addis Ababa which is a really beautiful city whose relatively high altitude ensures a pretty wide variation in temperature and evennings and early mornings can be distinctly chilly.

    The Rift Valley

    The Rift valley stretches directly across Ethiopia and dotted with accacia trees and villages. There is an abundance of wildlife particularly birds, many of which are endemic to Ethiopia.

    In the photo you can see fields of Teff, which is a grain that is widely used in Ethiopia for the production of the staple bread injera.
